Hormone Replacement
Bioidentical hormone replacement therapy (BHRT) refers to the use of hormones that are chemically identical to those naturally produced by the human body. These hormones are derived from natural plant or animal sources and are compounded to match the molecular structure of hormones like estrogen, progesterone, and testosterone that naturally occur in the body.

We know that you are your own unique, individual person. You are more than just a list of numbers from lab testing or an objective medical exam. We base our evaluations and treatment protocols on both lab and physical evaluations AND a thorough discussion on how you actually feel. We want to work with you to figure out the best, personalized regimen to help you feel like your best self. Treatment regimens typically include lifestyle and dietary modifications plus the option of medication therapy.

Benefits of Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy:
-
Natural Composition: BHRT uses hormones that are identical to those produced by the body, which results in fewer side effects and risks compared to synthetic hormones.
-
Customized Treatment: BHRT can be prescribed and compounded specifically for each individual based on their hormone levels and specific needs, allowing for personalized treatment plans.
-
Symptom Relief: BHRT can help alleviate symptoms associated with hormone imbalances, such as fatigue, depression, hot flashes, night sweats, mood swings, hair loss, and decreased sex drive.
-
Potential Bone Health Benefits: Estrogen, when used in BHRT, may help maintain bone density, reducing the risk of osteoporosis and fractures.
-
Cardiovascular Health: BHRT may help to reduce your risk of cardiovascular disease and improve your overall cardiac health.
-
Improved Quality of Life: By restoring hormone levels to a more balanced state, BHRT can improve overall well-being and quality of life for individuals experiencing hormone-related symptoms.

Typical Pricing and Options for BHRT:
-
Initial and subsequent appointments are $70 self-pay, or you can use United Healthcare insurance. You will typically need monthly appointments any time we are starting or adjusting medication. Once you are on a stable medication regimen, you will need an appointment every 3 months.
-
Comprehensive lab panels are around $150-$200 self-pay. With this - you will receive an itemized receipt that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.
-
Or, we can send lab orders to the lab of your choice and you can use your insurance upfront. Insurance does not always cover all lab work. It is a good idea to check with your individual insurance company on cost.
-
We utilize compounded topical creams, injectables, oral medications, patches, and vaginal creams. We do not offer pellet therapy.
-
BHRT medications vary in cost. Topical compounded medications and injectables cost between $50-$160 per month. We sometimes use oral medications or topical patches which are fairly inexpensive at most pharmacies. Medications are shipped directly to you, or you can pick up certain medications at a local pharmacy.
