All appointments at WellKC are self-pay only.
Initial appointments are $150.
Subsequent appointments are $100.
Urgent care only appointments are $80.
Your appointment fee is due prior to your appointment. You will receive an invoice via email prior your appointment. Our payment portal is secure and accepts most credit, debit, and HSA cards.
Why are we self-pay only?
At WellKC, we’ve chosen a self-pay model so we can focus on you—not insurance rules. Insurance companies often place limitations on what providers can order, how often patients can be seen, which treatments are covered, and how much time can be spent with each patient.
By remaining self-pay, we have the freedom to provide more personalized, comprehensive care based on what you actually need—not what an insurance company says is covered. It allows us to spend more time listening, order appropriate labs and testing, explore treatment options, and create a plan that is individualized to you.
We know that paying out of pocket is an investment, but we believe the time, access, personalization, and quality of care you receive make it worthwhile. Our goal is to provide the kind of healthcare we would want for ourselves and our own families—without unnecessary limitations from insurance.
We are in-network with many United Healthcare, Aetna, Cigna, and Kansas Medicaid plans. However, we do not bill insurance companies directly.
After an appointment, you can request an itemized receipt (sometimes called a superbill) for your visit and submit this to your insurance company for potential reimbursement. If we are in-network with your specific plan, they should reimburse you at your in-network or preferred provider rate. If we are not in-network with your specific plan, you can still receive reimbursement at your out-of-network rate. You can download an itemized receipt from your patient portal or request one be emailed to you.
Insurance coverage can be confusing. Here are a few (very generalized) examples of potential scenarios:
-
You have a plan that covers 90% of in-network costs. We are in-network. You have already met your deductible. Your plan should reimburse you for 90% of your appointment fee.
-
You have a plan that covers 50% of out-of-network costs (this can be any insurance plan, it does not have to be United Healthcare, Aetna, or Medicaid). We are out-of-network. You have already met your deductible. Your plan should reimburse you for 50% of your appointment fee.
-
You have a plan that covers X% in-network and X% out-of-network, but you have not met your deductible for the year. Your plan should apply your appointment fee towards your deductible. Once your deductible has been met, your plan should reimburse you the appropriate amounts for subsequent visits.
You are responsible for confirming whether or not we are in-network for your specific plan and other details of your specific plan. We are not able to look up or confirm this information for you.
Administrative Fees
We charge a $30 administrative fee per 30 minutes of work for the completion of any online or paper forms such as FMLA or prior authorizations for medications. We will request your approval and payment of this fee prior to the completion of any forms. More extensive paperwork may require an appointment (with an applicable appointment fee) dedicated solely to the discussion and completion of the paperwork.
Cancellation Policy
We charge a $25 non-refundable cancellation fee if you do not show up for your appointment within 15 minutes of your appointment start time or if you cancel your appointment with less than 24 hours notice.
Need to pay your invoice? You will receive a link via email to pay your appointment fee prior to your visit. If you have any issues finding or paying your invoice, please text us at 913-513-2166.
